The headline
inflation rate eased for the fifth consecutive month in July to 1.1% y-o-y, from +1.6% in June. The July headline number was
also the slowest in 16 months, mainly attributed to the slower rise in food
prices and a sharper drop in cost of transport. The core inflation rate also eased to a 16-month low of 2.0% y-o-y during the month, from 2.1% in June, indicating soft demand.
