Wednesday’s trade recap by our trading desk:-
Global headlines were dominated by trade war brewing between China and the US. US initially revealed a tariff list targeting $50bio worth of Chinese made products; and China announced a reciprocal tariff yesterday on US goods, targeting mainly soybeans, cars, chemicals and aircrafts. Global markets are on a risk-off state with selling pressure seen on equities mainly. On the local front, trading activities remained subdued as market players stayed on the sidelines in view of this brewing trade war. Flows were scattered across the curve with yields largely unchanged. MYR also traded sideways yesterday, closing at 3.8690 levels.
