BNM Hints at Policy Tightening in 2018   Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) kept the overnight policy rate (OPR) unchanged at 3% for its eighth straight meeting on 9 Nov, as expected. Looking forward, we think the monetary policy stance is tilted toward the upside in 2018. We believe the central bank would likely increase OPR by 25bps to 3.25% next year, as major global central banks are increasingly inclined to tighten monetary policies and the Malaysian economic growth is projected to improve further.
