Strong Headline GDP But Weak Ground Sentiment The release of Retail Group Malaysia’s (RGM) weak retail data for 3Q17 further reaffirmed the difference between the weak sentiment on the ground and robust headline GDP growth. This is in a stark contrast to the official retail trade number released by Department of Statistics (DOS) that showed a double-digit growth during the quarter.
