After two
consecutive years of slowing growth, the global environment is turning more
“reflationary”. Apart from the policy shift towards fiscal means in the
developed world to bolster growth, EM economies are benefiting from better
commodity prices, greater reform efforts, and stability in China. Meanwhile,
ASEAN economies are experiencing a recovery in exports which, coupled with
continued implementation of infrastructure projects, would augur well for a
stronger growth outlook for 2017, although this comes with higher inflation.
