Economic Update

Merchandise exports growth slowed in February, at +11% YoY from +24% YoY in January, mainly as a result of a slowdown in manufactured products. Moving forward, we forecast exports of goods & services to return to a growth of 6.2% in 2017, from -4.4% in 2016, on:
1. Pick-up in global demand for electrical & electronic (E&E) goods;
2. Gradual improvement in world merchandise trade volumes;
3. Recovery in agricultural exports.
