the sharp drop, the Thai Baht is holding up relatively well compared to its
neighbours Malaysia and Indonesia.
The strength of the Thai Baht stemmed from a more resilient balance of
payment makeup which is dominated by a larger share of current account
balance and direct investment inflows compared to 1997.
