China’s
economic conditions are likely to remain stable in the near term, amid an
improving manufacturing sector and gradual recovery in private investment. At
the same time, the stabilising external environment would support China’s trade
terms. Inflation would likely trend up given rising food and commodity
prices. Overall, we are less worried about China’s economy in the near term,
but continue to expect more downward pressure on growth over the longer term
given the weakening property market, potential short-lived restocking process
and deepening reforms.
