We believe the Government is slated to announce a
budget spending on 21 October that will likely only be marginally higher for
2017 compared to that in 2016.
Despite the rising challenges to its fiscal
consolidation drive, we believe the Government remains committed to continue
lowering its budget deficit further, albeit only slightly to 3.0% of GDP in
2017, from -3.1% of GDP in the 2016 Budget.
