The Philippines’
inflation rate edged lower to 0.8% y-o-y in July,
bringing the headline readings to a new 21-year low level, from +1.2% in
June. This was led by a decline in the cost of transportation due to falling
energy prices while the prices of food & beverages, furnishing &
housing equipment, health, and education moderated during the month.
