The Philippines’ real GDP growth picked up to 6.9% y-o-y in 1Q 2016, from a revised +6.5% recorded in 4Q and compared with +6.2% in 3Q, bolstered by a more robust domestic demand but offset partly by a smaller government consumption. The reading in 1Q was in line with median forecast.
