Philippines’
merchandise export growth surged ahead to 21.3% y-o-y in June, the
fastest pace in six months, from +6.9% in May and compared with +0.8% in
April, coming in well above the median estimate of +11.0% y-o-y. June’s
exports also made the country one of the top export performer among selected
Asian economies, raising hopes for a stronger economic expansion for the rest
of 2014.
