Both export and import growth missed the market
expectation again in Feb 2016. We have observed weakening demand across the
board. Looking ahead, we remain cautious for China’s exports given fragile
recovery of global economy, while import growth could gradually improve in
the near term due to low base effect and recent rebound of commodity prices.
Meanwhile, we could see more over-invoicing in the coming months if CNY
softens again, which could distort trade growth numbers
accordingly.
