Luxembourg leads world for highly-skilled employees
 
Almost 60% of the Luxembourg workforce is in jobs requiring tertiary education, the highest level in the world ahead of Singapore and Switzerland, according to the World Economic Forum and the International Labour Organisation. The researchers say this is largely due to the financial sector's requirement for high levels of education and training.

ALFI appoints Denise Voss as Chairman
 
The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) announced the appointment of Denise Voss as chairman of ALFI, taking over from Marc Saluzzi. Ms Voss takes up the position, which will initially run for two years.

Moody's confirms Luxembourg AAA rating
 
Moody's confirmed the "AAA" rating of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with a stable outlook. Luxembourg continues to benefit from the best rating from the three major rating agencies.

Luxembourg signs MoU with Toronto financial centre
 
Luxembourg for Finance and the Toronto Financial Services Alliance (TFSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a partnership framework to develop their respective financial services industries.

Assets under Management rise 29%
 
The assets under management of Luxembourg's fund industry rose 29.03% over the 12 months to the end of April to €3,538 billion, according to the CSSF.

LuxSE confirms position as the world's leader in international securities listing
 
Results published by the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) confirmed its world leadership position in the listing of international securities with a market share of 40% of international securities listed in Europe and 20% listed worldwide.

European financial centres prioritise internationalisation of the RMB
 
International leaders from government and industry gathered at the second edition of the Renminbi Forum held in Luxembourg to discuss the rising internationalisation of the RMB. The event was attended by more than 400 participants.

Job numbers swell in Luxembourg
 
Compared to the same period last year, the number of jobs rose 2.5 percent, driven by considerable growth in ICT (5.1 percent) and specialist and support services (4.9 percent), according to the national Statistical Institute (STATEC).

Hosted in Luxembourg Technology Label Launched
 
The new label "Hosted in Luxembourg" has been launched in the form of a private label with the aim of allowing companies to promote their web hosting services and web applications in Luxembourg as quality and safety pledge, both locally and abroad.
