The Government has
agreed to reduce the power tariff 2.25sen/ kWh beginning 1 March until 30
June for domestic, commercial and industrial users consuming 300kW/h and more
monthly. 32% of total consumers can expect a saving of between MYR13.50-45 on
their monthly bills, according to the Government. It said that lowering the
tariff was possible because of savings from fuel cost and imbalance cost
pass-through (ICPT) amounting to MYR726.7m.
