Read more   EU - ECOFIN agreement on automatic exchange of tax information   The EU Council of Economic and Finance (ECOFIN) Ministers reached in its meeting of 14 October a political agreement on a revised “administrative cooperation directive.” As a modern global financial centre committed to transparency, Luxembourg recognizes the need for a single standard and will implement the automatic exchange in 2017 for revenues of 2016. Read more     Luxembourg successfully issues landmark Sukuk transaction   Luxembourg issues the first Euro-denominated Sovereign Sukuk. The orderbook is more than 2x oversubscribed. This represents a landmark step in establishing Luxembourg as the global hub for Islamic Finance outside of the Islamic world. Pierre Gramegna, minister of Finance states: “I am most pleased with the success of this transaction, which illustrates Luxembourg’s commitment and expertise as a leading center for Islamic finance in the Eurozone.” Read more
