MALAYSIA: With the aim
of bridging the gap between the Islamic finance industry and the world of
academia to produce quality professionals equipped with both the
theoretical and practical expertise needed for real-life industry
demands, REDmoney has partnered with Malaysia’s largest university,
Universiti Teknologi MARA, to launch the all-new IFN Student Forum.
The first of its kind annual event is designed exclusively to encourage
and introduce the Islamic finance industry leaders of tomorrow. To be
held on the 18th March 2015, the forum joins a host of new IFN
events scheduled for next year including IFN Qatar Forum, IFN Investor
Forum, IFN US Investor Forum and the IFN Issuer Forum.
Targeted to attract over 650 Islamic finance students and senior
faculties from a multitude of universities in the Asian region, the IFN
Student Forum 2015 is a pioneering event bringing together some of the
brightest aspiring Islamic finance professionals and existing industry
elite practitioners for a day to interact, discuss and debate key issues
surrounding the industry, with a focus on career development in Islamic
banking and finance. The day will feature a variety of keynote speeches,
panel discussions, presentations and breakout sessions delivered by some
of the most prominent and experienced investment bankers, lawyers, fund
managers and dealmakers in the industry.
“Having delivered 90 Islamic finance events in 23 countries since 2006,
REDmoney and Islamic Finance news
continue to innovate and diversify its product offering according to the
needs of the industry; and minimizing the potential mismatch between
human capital and industry demands is one such dire need,” said Andrew
Morgan, the managing director and publisher of REDmoney Group.
“Leveraging our extensive network and unparalleled access to the
industry, not only do we intend to provide students with a glimpse of
what the ‘real world’ has to offer through insightful discussions with
industry professionals, but we also want to encourage practitioners to
increase their intern numbers.”
With an initial roll out targeted for the Asian region; there are plans
to eventually expand the series onto a global platform. Morgan also
revealed that the IFN Student Forum represents the first step in a wider
new education initiative from REDmoney, with further projects due to
launch in 2015 – so watch this space.
