In line with its commitment to market and investor education, RAM Ratings is introducing the RAM Bond Market Monthly
- a snapshot of bond-market activities in Malaysia that is released in
the second week of each month. The inaugural issue indicates that
October was a strong month for the issuance of government securities,
continuing the uptrend observed since August. This brings the total
gross issuance for the year to RM94.8 billion as at end-October.
On the other hand, the issuance of private debt
securities (PDS) decelerated m-o-m, although it was still 12.4% higher
y-o-y for the cumulative period. We expect gross PDS issuance to reach
RM90 billion for the entire year. Meanwhile, the MGS yield curve
flattened slightly in October; the 10-year yield came up to 3.86%
compared to September’s 3.93%.
