Industrial
production contracted by 1.2% y-o-y in September, a reversal from +4.0% in
August and +3.0% in July. The decline was sharper than consensus expectation
of 0.8% contraction, indicating softer economic activities in late 3Q. The
decline in industrial production was due mainly to a reversal in biomedical
and electronics output into contractions in September, after recording
increases in the previous month.
