FW: Fixed Income Daily Pulse - 22 August 2017

Today’s trade recap by our trading desk:-

 

·         Ringgit strengthened against USD by 70pips to close at 4.2800 level, while UST yields eased slightly overnight as investors set up for Jackson Hole symposium starting this coming Thursday. In local bond market, trade flows for the day concentrates on the belly of the curve, yields however pared due to profit taking after lunch hours. Yields remain largely unchanged at closing for the short end to the belly. Meanwhile, there’s a large movement on the 15y MGS; dropping -4.5bps. News on the local front, BNM August YTD international reserves was released during the day at USD100.4b (+1% MoM; July: USD99.4b). Malaysia July CPI is due tomorrow at 12pm (Expectations: 3.4%; Prev: 3.6%).
