Thailand’s
consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.1% y-o-y in July,
easing from a 0.4% gain a month earlier, as food inflation started to wane.
Cost of fresh food grew 2.4% y-o-y in July, decelerating from a 4.1% advance
the month before. Meanwhile, price of transportation declined at a slower
pace than the month before and the prices of clothing & footwear inched
up, cushioning some of the downside. Core CPI climbed 0.8% y-o-y in
June, unchanged for the fourth consecutive month.
