CIMB Daily Fixed Income Commentary - 13 Oct 2015

Market Roundup
  • US market closed on Columbus Day holiday.
  • Malaysian sovereign bonds ended mixed, but were seen with better net buying interest across the board. Daily volume remained decent, despite fell from RM4.2 billion to RM2.4 billion on Monday. Meantime, WI for the 5-year GII was left untraded and last quoted at 3.95/85%.
  • Thai govvies hovered near prior levels, while market was seen with muted trading interest, as the trading volume shrank drastically from Bt19.6 to Bt8.0 billion on Monday.
  • Indonesia government bond market opened a bit lower with wider bid offer spread. It looks like people await today's bond auction. We have seen buying interest on 10-year tenor in the afternoon from foreign onshore bank but we think this more on short covering action. Volume fell to IDR 7.9 trillion.
  • Asian credits posted little gains on Monday, supported by thinner buying interest, amid a lack of fresh catalyst in the market.
