FW: Fixed Income Daily Pulse - 17 October 2017

Good Evening,

Today’s trade recap by our trading desk:-

·         Ahead of a midweek Deepavali break here, the local bond market traded sideways with very little volume done. Market movements today were dominated by overnight headlines that John Taylor (a hawk) is reckon to be currently the favourite to be Fed’s next Chairperson, ahead of Kevin Warsh and Jerome Powell. The news sent UST yields firming up, rising back above 2.30% levels. Local reaction was rather muted with MGS yields rising 1bps only despite MYR weakening to 4.2230 levels.
