Dear Readers,
Highlights
of the report as follow:-
|
|
· The new issuance of
the very first 30-year MGII maturing 8 May 2047 with a size of RM2.0bil
recorded a strong bid-to-cover (BTC) ratio of 2.393 times. The strong BTC
ratio could have been due to increased demand for Malaysian assets as
evidenced by the stronger ringgit as well as slower demand for US long-term
Treasuries as markets are pricing in for a US Fed rate hike in June.
·
The
next tender to watch is the new issuance of the 10.5-year MGS in May 2017. It
will be the fourth new issuance of MGS for 2017. The last issuance of such
papers was the 10.5-year MGS ‘11/26 in May 2016 which reported a 2.193 times
BTC ratio.
