Economic Highlights

The “Brexit” outcome on June 24, though with limited clarity on the timing of triggering Article 50, continues to reverberate through global markets. While financial markets appear to be calmer, the dust has not settled, suggesting that the situation is still fluid and highly uncertain (kindly refer to our June 27 note, “Post-Brexit: Guesses & Speculations…”, for a preliminary view). But the renegotiations of trade deals, passporting rights, etc by a new UK Prime Minister eventually, in light of the continuing acrimonious posture of politicians, suggest that political developments will likely dominate economic headlines.
