EPICENTRE - Takaful: Growing from Strength to Strength

Takaful is an important growing sector in the Islamic finance industry, with continuous positive growth momentum in key markets and estimations of continued double-digit growth globally.

While the GCC and ASEAN are expected to continue to lead the global takaful markets with their substantial growth, emerging markets within Europe and Africa are also showing significant growth potential.

The discourse on Sustainable, Responsible and Impactful (SRI) investment products have taken a new light, mainly after the magnitude and severity of the global financial crisis which impacted almost the entire financial system a few years ago. This Booklet aims to build a case on the potential of Islamic finance to be an alternative investment class, due to the shared values between Islamic finance and SRI.

Shariah Scholars and Industry Stakeholders Discuss Issues on Financial Safety Nets at the IFSB-ISRA Shariah Roundtable
The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) and International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) have successfully organised a Shariah Roundtable themed, ‘Financial Safety Nets: Striking a Balance between Shariah Requirements and the Soundness of the Islamic Financial System’. The Roundtable was held on 5 November 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
