Following parliamentary
elections held on October 20th, a new government led by Prime Minister
Xavier Bettel has taken office on December 5th. The Finance Minister in
the new government will be Pierre Gramegna, and will act also as the
Chairman of Luxembourg for Finance. As the head of the Luxembourg Chamber
of Commerce for the last eleven years, Mr Gramegna is a very safe pair of
hands at the helm of the Luxembourg financial center and, at the expense
of stating the obvious very business-minded.

The ballroom at the
Çıragan Palace Kempinski hotel in Istanbul is in a league of its own, for
sheer size, for its grandeur and for the breathtaking views over the
Bosphorus from its balconies. The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of
Luxembourg were on a State Visit to the Republic of Turkey, accompanied
by three ministers and a 100 strong delegation of Luxembourg business men
and women.

Over a period of fifty
years, the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) has made astonishing
progress from its humble beginnings in the dining room of a private home.
Offering an international curriculum that culminates with the
International Baccalaureate programme, the school’s well-established
reputation in Luxembourg goes well beyond its borders. The school now
re-organised as non-profit, has grown from a class of seven pupils to a
modern place of learning for some 1200 students.
